Carousel and SkyRide

We did something this week we haven't done before: went on the carousel and SkyRide to see the waterfalls in Spokane! Both were tremendously enjoyed by all. Thanks Grandma Shellie!

Hazel's Birthday

This is a little belated, since Hazel's birthday was on August 1. But happy happy 2nd birthday to our sweet little girl. Here are some pictures from that day and our little celebration. And some from before her brother was born, at the pool, and when my parents took her to the Appaloosa Museum.

Another new babe (not ours)

We have a new addition to the family, from Jason's sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Mark. Isaac Maurer was born this morning in Iowa. We can't wait to see pictures of the little guy and I'm sure older brother Kenny is loving the new baby.

Birthday and Hemp Fest Weekend

We did a lot of baking here this weekend. These are Jason's birthday desserts: black forest cake (which ended up a trifle tart for my taste, but still good) and a caramel cheesecake. Yum. Of course I didn't take any pictures during the actual party, but we had a good time with friends.
The remains of a strawberry pie we took over to some friends' house for dinner.
Photo session with Dad.It might be hard to see, but I guess she tromped around the yard with her hand down the back of her pants for a while. Why? Who knows the mind of a toddler.
Saturday morning breakfast. Hazel was most happy with her fried egg and strawberry with whipped cream crepe.Saturday afternoon at the park to check out Hemp Fest. Enjoying the rocking horse.
Trying to follow the 5, 6, and 7 year olds up the ladder and then realizing she didn't know how to keep climbing.
Oblivious to the fact that she was holding up the line.

Birds on a Wire

We went to the Birds on a Wire folk festival this weekend and had a great time! It was a two-day event, that started last year as a one-evening concert in Moscow. It is an outgrowth of Stereopathic Music and Stereopathic Sessions, a local radio show started by two friends, Larson and Josh. Larson has gotten into music promotions and this festival is his brainchild.

This year the event was two days and had over thirty bands and solo artists performing. Check out the link above and listen to some of the amazing musicians. I loved Joe Pug, Rocky Votolato, and Laura Gibson (who I got to see perform last year as well). Sera Cahoone was also wonderful - basically everyone there were great artists and super talented. I'll also mention Hueco and Goldfinch; I can't single anyone out as the best.

Jason and I went by ourselves Friday night and it was a nice little date night of listening to music and visiting with friends. Saturday afternoon we all went and Hazel had a great time of listening and dancing in the back of the auditoriums. I think she really liked Goldfinch's rendition of Joleen and Sera Cahoone, but I can't say for sure, just going on her level of "getting down" during those acts.

Anniversary

Well the actually anniversary was on New Year's Eve, but this year is the 6th year since Jason proposed and this summer it will be our five year anniversary! So much has happened since then, but here's a few little snapshots from our wedding. I really want to scan all of our wedding pictures to put on our computer. But since we don't have that right now here are the unofficial pictures.

Good times with old friends at my bachelorette party.

Our rehearsal dinner, which happened to fall on my 23rd birthday.

The too-cool Jolley sisters.

Cutting the pie! That's how cool we are, we didn't need cake.

Is it just me or do we look very young and this was only a few years ago?

The Fall Jolly

Yes, that's right, they named the church tag/craft sale and bazaar after me. They just forgot the "e", the most important letter, as Anne of Green Gables will tell you.

I helped, in a very small way, with the kids' crafts section of the sale. Sadly, through the craziness of the summer, I didn't get as much done as I should have. The work party that was held earlier this summer did contribute a lot of cute little items, such as dress-up glasses, bracelets, and crowns. I am happy with the way my little Robin Hood hats and Indian headbands turned out though. The gorgeous layout with the balloons was Rachel's brainchild - love it!

And of course, Dutch Girl Fabrics was there and we had a really wonderful day chatting with customers, selling adorable little hairpins by Sarah, totes by Sarah and our friend Anna, some little magnets by me, and tons o' fabric!
