Recent knitting

I usually have at least 2 books that I'm reading at the same time, several sewing projects going, and several knitting projects on different needles at the same time.

But I am working on finishing up unfinished projects to make way for starting a new sweater for Hazel and maybe one for myself (eek! big project).

Recently I made this hat for Hazel out of some gorgeous turquoise wool yarn her Aunt Corinne brought back from Europe this summer. I think it was hand spun. I just did a knit 2, purl 2 edge with a seed stitch for the body of the hat. There's a little bit left over, so I may put some in a hat for Klaas or myself. Of course the hat turned out a bit big, but that's fine since it will fit her all winter!
And this is a project I promised Jason for a New Year's gift last winter. I finally started it and it's almost done. It's being blocked on the table as we speak (or rather, as I type). Pictures will follow soon! Also hopefully I'll be able to convince him to model his Father's Day necktie. It will be a lesson for all in not just grabbing whatever yarn you have available without thinking about the thickness of the yarn. (One skein of slightly thicker yarn results in a wonky tie.) But overall it turned out nicely, but maybe as more of a skinny scarf than a tie.
