Why we are practicing listening to Mom when she says "STOP!"

Yesterday Hazel and I went to the pool for the first time. Apparently her great hatred of the beach doesn't extend to the pool. She had so much fun running around (it also helps that our city pool is like an amusement park for kids), playing with the fountains and different water toys.

She also has no fear when it comes to charging directly into the water so her 8 1/2-month pregnant mother has to quickly grab her so she doesn't walk in over her head. When I took her out to the deeper section to have her kick, she kept asking me to let her go. "Don't worry Mom, I'm an expert!"

But she still had fun when I insisted that that maybe wasn't such a great idea and instead suggested practicing kicking and swimming with her arms. Also, playing motorboat is quite amusing to an almost 2-year old.

I wish I had a few pictures, but I don't think bringing our nice, new (to us) camera to the pool by myself would be a great idea. Maybe some other time when Jason joins us I'll take some snapshots of our little water lover.

So here's one from last summer. I can't believe how much bigger she is now!

And another one of her last weekend at ArtWalk.

Thanks for the warning of what we can expect when we take her!
