Since moving in a month ago, I have become attached to my kitchen. Not that it is such a wonderful place - it's very small and cramped and only has 3 square feet of counter space. But I am having such a good time cooking. Now that I'm not just cooking for myself, I can indulge in "playing house" and get my feet wet in the culinary arts. I've not always enjoying cooking. In high school my sister and some friends created R.A.W.L. (or Rachel, Anne, Wes, and Liz for those uninitiated). We would get together every once in a while and have theme dinners. It was a ton of fun, except the time we did Italian and we each made a dish which could have been enough for an entire main course. So basically we had enough food for 16 people. We tried our best to eat it all. R.A.W.L. is also where I per the fantasically stupid act of filling a piping hot wok (which was already full of hot oil) with cold water. WHOOSH! Afterward we all had a good laugh, but at the time, I was lucky to still have my eyebrows.
Anyways, the point is that now I LOVE cooking! Today I made some cappuccino ice cream, baked apples, lemon chicken, rice, and stuffed mushrooms for dinner. Still waiting to see how it all tastes (Jason's at rugby practice). The other day I made my first lasagne. Yesterday was a caramel custard. When Anne was visiting, we made a yummy walnut chicken dish. Since I've collected around 20 cookbooks over the last few years, I have a huge library full of ideas at my fingertips. Getting all sorts of new recipes to try out. So please feel free to send me a recipe that is simply fabulous and I'll try it out.
P.S. If anyone is feeling generous, you can buy me this cooking necessity.

thanks! :)

"Elizabeth's Online Journal In Which She Will Try to Answer the Question, 'Why, oh why, doesn't Jason like Kandinsky?'"
and when exactly does this occur?
That byline was written merely as an inside joke to Jason and doesn't really have anything to do with the blog. But I like it, so it will stay! :)
