A New Start

It has finally happened. The day has finally come. Oh yes, the countdown until Liz leaves Conglomorate Coffee Company....for good! There are exactly two, count them: 1, 2, more shifts until I am completely finished with making drinks for demanding, rude, and unappreciative customers.
And how am I going to spend my days you may ask? You are now reading the blog of an official Instructional Assistant for Special Education at the junior high school here in town. In layman's terms, I type what happens in the classroom in real time for a deaf student. Today was my first day and I am incredibly glad that I am no longer a 13 year old student in public schools. I really had a good time getting to know my student and my fellow staff members, but really, some of those junior high boys just need to have a good talking to and/or a more severe correction of their attitudes.
I'm really enjoying not having to get up every morning and deal with people who do the following: there's me and only me behind the register. The customer places an order, I take their money, and give them there change. I then walk over to the bar to begin making their drink. They stare at me and say righ then and there, "Where's my latte?" Ummm...it's being delivered this afternoon and I'm just going to stand here for a few hours until it gets here.
So, now I just have to type and hang out with kids all day. Sounds good to me!
Oh - and with my new job description (typing for 7 hours a day), I come home this afternoon from my first day, arms sore and tired (not being used to this yet), and Jason asks, "Can you type up my Latin translation?"

Please tell me you said, "No. It's your homework." And precended to mention how tired and sore you were from your new job in which all you did was type.

as a patron of the "Conglomorate Coffee Company" i must say that not all customers are "demanding, rude, and unappreciative"...take for example chipper, cheerful moi!

The problem with that is with the manual machines, it takes some planning to make their drink decaf. With the autos - you just push the button and, whoop - there's their quad venti caramel macchiato (decaf).

I sure hope that Conglomerate Coffee Company doesn't figure out who Anne is- I would hate to have an unemployed daughter! Besides, if you don't want your customers cranky, doesn't depriving them of their drug of choice just make the situation worse?
