The big 0-3

Hazel is now 3. 3. 3!

We've had a rather extended birthday celebration with a little friend party last Friday. She had a few friends over, they made a little naturey-craft, and ate strawberry cupcakes.
And then Grandma Shellie came on Sunday and we celebrated her official birthday on the 1st with presents, ice cream, and a trip to the flower farm and going out for breakfast.
Klaas was rather cheerful, but I think Hazel wasn't feeling all that great yesterday afternoon, which is not a fun way to spend your birthday. So she doesn't look happy in a lot of the pictures, but I think she had a good time opening presents and of course, even though she didn't finish her dinner, she had room for ice cream with berries and whipped cream.

Another year has come and gone and she is now entering her fourth year. It's amazing to see her grow and learn. We are so blessed to have her in our lives. She is the sweetest little girl and loves to help out. She and Klaas love to giggle together and be silly. We also, in a way, love her stubborn streak. We are praying for us and her that the Lord uses this to glorify Him as she grows up; that she will be a warrior for the faith and not let anyone turn her to the right or to the left. I think she will be a strong woman when she grows up...if we do our job right. But right now, we are just enjoying her little doodles, sounding out letters, and loving to read Richard Scarry books.

Happy birthday Hazelnut!
