It's hot and I'm still pregnant

So we're all slightly cranky and are trying to deal by sitting in the kiddie pool. Maybe also the crankiness comes from waiting for the boy to come out. Though Hazel can't really use that excuse.
I'm hoping that since I finished up this little blanket for him this afternoon, the "if you build it, he will come" principle will apply. I love zig-zag quilts so I used the template from Anna Maria Horner's Folk Dance quilt pattern and just made a little version. It being a project of mine, there are of course little issues and mistakes, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. It's also a cheater "quilt" since it's not quilted at all with just a flannel back. But I'm ok with that!
(Little note: while taking pictures of the quilt, I said to Jason, "I need to move. It's too bright out here." Response: "That's why we have this camera - so you can adjust the settings." Oh. Right. This is why I need a mechanically-inclined husband: to change my camera settings. Thanks hon!)

cute!

I used the same anna maria horner blue fabric for Aiden's quilt that I made last year. :)

So sweet! Good job, Liz. And if it didn't have little mistakes, it wouldn't feel handmade, right? I saw that quilt pattern on Anna's website, and wasn't too crazy about it. But I think your color scheme improves the pattern. I may have to try it myself someday!

It is absolutely darling. I like your theory of we are officially ready , so now you can come.
I think the heat is enough reason for anyone to be cranky, especially when it seems to sneak up on your.
