Sitting pretty

Little Miss Hazel sat on a tuffet, eating her curds and whey. Except that in this scenario, the tuffet is actually a mini rocking chair and the curds and whey are dried cranberries with a few chocolate chips thrown in as a treat.

Jason's mom came to visit last week and we found this adorable little rocking chair at a local antiques store. We have been looking for some Hazel-size furniture and this fit the bill perfectly! And it was already painted a great red.

Hazel immediately had fun sitting in, rocking, and moving the chair around the living room and her room.

Mama decided to have some fun and make a little cushion out of her huge bag of scrap material. When Hazel woke up she immediately spotted the pillow and now spends time arranging the pillow just so before sitting down.

Some of the fabrics I used were by Kaffe Fassett and Heather Bailey (I think, but can't really remember right now) and I added a few vintage prints I've had for a while. I do love the fact that I have a little girl and can indulge in my previously-unknown love for all things pink, which didn't emerge until Hazel entered our lives.

The cushion is darling, and the picture of Hazel in her chair brings back wonderful memories of last week.
