The reason why I am asking if anyone knows what a shim is, is that Jason asked me yesterday to grab him the packet of shims on the back porch. I proudly picked the shims up and while handing them to Jason, asked him if he was proud of me that I knew what shims were. He said no, since everyone knows what a shim is. I begged to differ, argued that it wasn't common knowledge, and I therefore deserved much praise. So we decided to take a poll.
To continue: do you know what a shim is?

Hi Liz,
I am sorry to say, but I do know what a shim is. I had to use them quite frequently at work when we moved/setup bookshelves. Wish I could of helped you with your vote. :-)

Hey, I'm Jessica Purvis' sister-in-law Christina, and I check out your blog sometimes, it's so cute! I hope that isn't really weird. :) Anyway. I for one, do not know what a shim is. I think I can guess from the last comment, but I still am not sure.
i know too. only because i had to wait forever for my husband to shim in the french doors and then another forever for him to put the trim up. i still have them poking out all around the new laundry room door. but at least i have a new laundry room door. sorta.
just found you via a rav friend. i do know what a shim is as my husband is a carpenter. i also know he never goes back and snaps off the exposed bit, so shims and i ain't friends. :)
I have no clue.... so shim that Jason!
Tell that cousin of mine I had no idea what a shim is so he didn't teach me well.
