And so it ends...

After a very bad few days with Miranda the cat, I made a very difficult decision and took her to the vet to try and put her up for adoption. She had been lashing out at a lack of attention by not using her litter box...quite a few times.

After putting up with that for a while and trying to work with her, I finally reached my limit when Hazel almost ended up next to an undiscovered mess.

I tried the animal shelters, but they were all full of other cats with issues waiting for adoption, so I took her to the vet's office and they would have her out in the lobby and advertise for us to find her a new home. In order to do this, they had to test her for feline leukemia. And lo and behold, she tested positive.

Since it's a contagious disease and it would be very difficult to adopt her out knowing she has leukemia, and knowing that I couldn't take her back, my friend who works at the clinic counseled me that the best option would be to put Miranda down. So Miranda has gone on to....wherever cats go when they die (which is nowhere since they don't have souls).

So Jason and I are a little sad tonight that we parted ways with the cat on such a negative note, but c'est la vie. She was a good cat, and I will miss her (or at least I'll miss the Miranda from 2005 through early 2008).

Best to remember the Miranda you loved- not the one you were praying David's prayer for his enemies for.

I am truly sorry Lidabit. She was a wonderful kitty who just had a few bad days. Hopefully when Hazel is older you will find the "Kitt" for her. :)

How about a "Jack"- or even better- a "Taffy"!

Ahhh... Liz, I am so sorry! Believe it or not, I feel your pain. :) I'll be praying for you guys. It's been 6 months since Belle left us, and I still miss her. I get so mad at her for being bad those few times, because I wish she could still be here.

Oh no! I'm so sorry! Pets and babies are a hard mix in my opinion. I love Phoebe, but I loved her more before Sydney for sure.
