to hear your baby girl cry, but that's what we're starting to do. I have to admit that Jason and I love to rock Hazel to sleep. There's something so comforting and lovable about cuddling your little one, especially when they're peacefully asleep. However we've been doing that at every nap time and bed time, and since she weighs 12 pounds now, she's getting quite heavy!
So now at the appropriate time we just wrap her up, make sure she doesn't need anything, give her a hug, and put her down to go to sleep. And she's actually done really well! She only cries for a few minutes before settling down to sleep. Of course there are times when she has cried for a while, like last night, so we ended up holding her and feeding her some more (I guess she wasn't done with her cuddling and food for the day). But it seems that if she is content and not too tired already, she might (knock on wood), be an easy baby to put to sleep!
Neither one of us likes hearing her cry, but at least she's learning to go to sleep on her own. And getting cuter every day!

I know! It's hard at first, but when they start going down without any cries and sleeping 12 hours, you'll be so thankful :) Hang in there!!
there is a downside though. my little girl has to go to sleep in her own bed. she hates to sleep in car seats, swings, people's arms - church. just her bed and only her bed. the price you pay. but all three were like that. i always fed them when they woke up, and when they started to fuss i chucked them in their room to sleep it off. take that. but still, it's better than the alternative. like trying to perform a sneaky boob heist from highly suspicious, half asleep infant. they're smart.
can' wait to see how adorable she is in person--she's blessed by 2 wonderful parents! Aunt Cheryl
