The Case of the Missing Windshield

Of all the items one could steal from an ugly old pickup, would the windshield be the number one item? We don't think so either. But that's what someone stole last week. On Friday morning Jason noticed that someone had cut out the windshield of his pickup truck. Just a little bit strange and annoying.
So we reported it to the police and yesterday they came and told us to watch the truck because they have a suspect in mind who might be guilty. But they need more evidence still. So we're supposed to watch and see if this guilty thief comes to take our review mirrors or brake pads. Seriously, how desperate are you that you're driving around looking for a truck with the same model as your truck to take their windshield?!?
Of course, I, wanting to be helpful, asked Jason if the police had thought to dust the truck for fingerprints. He just gave me a look and told me to stop reading so many mystery novels and watching so many TV shows and movies. He thinks...and he's probably right...that the police know what they're doing and don't really need Nancy Drew on the case.
I'm just sad that I wasn't home when the police came by to talk with Jason in the first place. My dreams of being involved in solving a real life crime are hopelessly dashed.

So we shall see what becomes of....insert tense music here....the Case of the Missing Windshield!
