Le Weekend a les nombres

Well, another uneventful Easter has come and gone. My sister Anne, her friend Nate, and her boyfriend David all came down last week to visit. The other purpose of the trip was to give Nate (who's from Michigan) the grand tour of northern California. The first weekend they were here was a crash course in gold rush history: one day Columbia, another day Sutter's Fort and the capital building. I did go with them on the trip to Sacramento and I can say that the best part was going to my FAVORITE restaurant, Tapa the World. (They better thank me for that free publicity.)
The rest of the week, I was working a lot - which was both bad and good. Lots of money. But not so much time with my sister.
But we did manage to hang out a bit, while our house was serving as the California Base of Operations for Students Visiting from Seattle. (Anne had a few other friends stay for a few days - but it was actually really fun to have a completely full house.)
Yesterday we had my mum's family over for lunch and we just basically hung out like always, except that every year it seems that the group gets smaller. Strange.
Today I had no tutoring (nice break) and no schedule from Starbuck's (hurrah), so I spent the whole day puttering around and sewing some little doo-dads. Also just standing in the middle of my obscenely messy room and wondering where the best place is to begin in the cleaning up process. But then I just got frustrated and stopped worrying about it.
I think that might just be the best way to deal with problems.

mmm, tapa the world... I miss yummy Sacramento-esqu eateries! We should enjoy some of them when I come up in April, okay? Okay!

Hey Liz, maybe you could say what is the best thing to eat at Starbucks if you don't want anything with coffee. :-) I have a giftcard that I'd like to use and I figured you could help me out. Ben says that you're just a natural fit there and somehow that doesn't surprise me. Blessings!--Sophia

Hi Sophia-
Well here's your rundown of a few options for Starbucks-sans coffee.
1. Iced Tea Lemonade - which most stores don't have yet - but will have in the summer
2. All sorts of regular hot tea
3. Iced black tea (v. good) or iced passion tea
4. Caramel apple cider (v. good) or regular apple cider (no whipped cream or caramel or cinnamon inside)
5. Chantico - chocolate drink - not so great in my opinion
6. Vanilla steamer - milk with vanilla and whipped cream (v. good)
7. Cream frappuchinos - you can get any syrup we have (caramel, almond, hazelnut, etc...) with a dairy base blend - more like a milkshake
Those are just some I thought of off the top of my head. You need to come home before I have to quit and I can make you a drink!

I forgot a very obvious one - chai tea latte

Of course you can get any of the milk-related drinks with whole, nonfat, %, soy, or organic. I feel like I'm at work right now.
