Rejoice citizens, the festival is here!

It's that time of year again, the last weekend in Februrary: the Almond Blossom Festival! This is actually the first year that I won't be going into town for several hours merely to stand around and be bored. When you're young, the festival is simply fabulous. There are games and rides to spend your parent's money on, the traditional tri-tip sandwich to buy from the local school's stand (which I never really liked anyway, but you can't argue with tradition), and the fantastic parade to watch (which I actually like; I don't know why, but parades are always fun to be around - maybe most will disagree, but it's fun to let yourself get excited to see the prancing Arabian horses.)

But now, the festival has lost a bit of its shine. It's just not as exciting as it used to be. When I was in junior high, my girlfriends and I would spend the entire day from about 10 in the morning downtown wandering around, people watching, and looking for other kids from school. Last year I went with a small group of friends (including my future sisters-in-law actually), but it just wasn't the same. if you've seen one Almond Blossom Festival, you've seen them all. So that's why I'm staying home this year. The other reason is that I'm still in my pajamas and have no plans to altering that at the moment.

The one good thing about the Almond Blossom Festival, are the actual almond blossoms. They're very beautiful and I've provided you with a few pictures to illustrate. Added bonus - in a place where it doesn't snow - when all the orchards are in bloom it looks like it just snowed.
