Ahhh, Claymation

I'll admit it: I love, and I mean really love, the old Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer movie from 1964 that they show every year on TV. I realize it is corny and cheesy and childish, and it instills in young children a feverish belief that there is really and truly a Santa Claus, but I can't help my adoration. I don't know if its just the nostalgic, warm, fuzzy feeling that I get when I watch it or just the fun of laughing at Rudolph's girlish voice or his friend's desire to become a dentist (and who wouldn't want to be a dentist?), but there is just something about that cartoon that is very endearing. The reason I thought of this is that on NPR's website, there was a little story about the program as it turns 40 years old this year.

On a totally different note, I saw a guy being pulled on his skateboard through the Safeway parking lot by his rather enthusiastic pit bull. Good device to get his dog exercise and quick transportation sans polluting the environment. Kudos!
