I'm Waitin' For the Man
I did it. I saw the man himself, Bob Dylan, live in concert. Woo hoo! He came to Davis yesterday and Janae and I bought ourselves some tickets and enjoyed a good solid hour and half of Bob's lyricism and music. Except for the very sad fact that he never played the guitar! It was still pretty neat to see him play the piano and hear him sing, but the main reason I wanted to go was to see him perform his old songs, the classics. Unfortunately that didn't happen and he played mostly his newer pieces. After he was finished, he took a bow and looked very shaky, though I guess years of drugs can take a toll on the body.
The crowd was fun and very enthusiastic, with the obligatory stoners and aroma of alcohol and pot in the air. About half the people were my age with the others being in the 50s and 60s, coming to hear him play again. It was fun to people watch and see how they reacted to the music, some were just listening, others were jumping up and down and having a grand old time, much to the chagrin of those standing next to them.
But cheers to Bob Dylan for still being a cool musician and putting on a good show. And to his lead guitarist, that guy was good!
Mr. Dylan

Dylan is one of my absolute favorites! He sat at the piano? Did he do "Blind Willie McTell"?
It was a really awesome concert just to see him play, but no, he didn't play the guitar! :( He didn't play that song, I actually didn't recognize most of the songs because I don't have his new CD. (Disappointment)
