If you don't want to be grossed out, don't search for pictures and symptoms of pink eye (conjunctivitus or an irritation of the conjunctiva - the outermost layer of the eye) on the Internet. Its not so pleasant.
I have pink eye, that's why I was stupid enough to do it. Trust me, my eyes look nothing like this (click only if you are brave of heart).
