At school, classes began today. The very, very last day of September and the good regents of the University of California decided to give us a respite from the harsh, brutal boringness of what I call, "All of my friends and family have gone back to school, leaving me alone with nothing to do in Davis because all my friends have left for bigger and better things and I have no life save for work and hoping for the glory that is homework tale end of summer" (sorry, I'm not very succinct).
(Though I am starting to make friends with my new roomies, so I'm not living like a convict in solitary confinement.)
Anyways....I am getting ready to graduate this December and only have two required classes to take. So I am also taking Russian (broadening my horizons) and Design 1 - Intro to Design and Visual Culture. And after spending two hours in the latter class, I decided that I chose the wrong major and want to major in Design. Problem with this you might think? Oh yes, you'd be right. I do love history, but design seems like something else fun to try and dabble at (and I am aware of my completely limited talent in the drawing area). So I was a little mad today that I hadn't explored this option earlier even though I wanted to, I never really found the time.
In conclusion, I urge all undergrads out there who haven't chosen a major yet to really explore and find what you want to do and I am very, very happy that school has finally started (ok I admit it, I'm a nerd)!
