The Dangers of Office Equipment

This evening, while preparing to think of a topic for today's blog and while being slightly distracted by Bob and Larry, those incredibly silly hosts of Veggie Tales on the television, I mutilated my toe. Who knew that it was completely possible (and too easy) to run over your toe with the rolly office chairs? I certainly didn't! It hurt. A lot. Here's a picture of my toe for your viewing pleasure.

My new injury inspires me to focus on this subject of toe injuries. My good friend Wes has a similar, if not more permanent injury. When he was three, Wes was being a good son and helping his dad mow the lawn. As Wes was pushing his own bubble-blowing mini-mower, Wes's dad somehow (the details are unclear) ran over his big toe with the adult-sized, sharp-bladed mower. The result is a slightly scarred foot, the subject of which is always good for discussion if the conversation is dying at a party. Inevitably, someone will say, "Hey Wes! Let's see your toe!" Wes will comply and then we all gather around with horrified fascination and imagine what poor little, 3-year-old Wes must have felt when the mower ran over his foot.

Be careful out there! Office equipment can be as dangerous as landscaping tools! Beware the deadly lure of pencil sharpeners and erasers!
