Small animals are delicious

Basically this post is just about how much I love leg of lamb. Delicious doesn't quite describe it. Wonderful yumminess. Larson and Bethany and the boys came over last night and we enjoyed the last piece of our half of lamb we bought last fall. I'm sad that it's all gone, but it will soon be replaced by a half of a goat. "GOAT," you say!?!? Yes indeed! I've already been looking up recipes and I think that we will be enjoying some lovely stews and roasts this winter. I'll let you know how it goes!
So today has been clean up day after Sunday and starting to tackle the horrifying mess that is the office/sewing room so that when my parents come out next week for Thanksgiving, they will have a place to keep their things. We love Thanksgiving and we're having fun planning the menu. For the yams, I think we're going to try yams with caramelized onions. Jason had some at a restaurant (can't remember when) so I'm attempting to find a recipe online similar to what he had.

yes, i remember when my friends slaughtered their goat in the back yard. we were playing with it when uncle sylvester walked out with a skinning knife. next thing you knew it was hanging from the clothesline, bleeding all over the place. but that's what you get for hanging out with mexicans. they also tried to ward me off their cheese by telling me they curdled it by throwing in dried, cow testicles.

sorry, the picture of the goat brought back memories.

Are we having goat for Thanksgiving dinner? Saw lots of them around Israel. Try some Middle Eastern recipes!

Let me know how the yams turn out--sounds good. Went to Interfaith the other night and helped Grandpa sort canned goods--also had boxes of "real" yams besides all sizes of cans of them. Certainly made me hungry...hope all is well and am assuming your parents are back from Israel.
