Eagle Cap, the Wallowas, Oregon

We went backpacking last weekend to the Wallowas in Oregon with Keith and Nellie. We hadn't been hiking in a long time and neither one of us had ever really officially been backpacking, and it was so great! I have a photo album you can look at here.

But here a couple just for fun.

We hiked Eagle Cap (above) which, according to the US Forest Service, is 9,572 feet high. It was quite the trip, with around 20 miles in three days. So it was a lot of walking, but not enough to feel so emotionally drained you're a basket-case (as I have been when hiking Half Dome, both times).

Behold...the backpackers.

Congratulations on making to the top, and home again. Looks like beautiful country! Looking forward to seeing it with you both! Mom
