It's an outrage!

The American Film Institute published their list of the "25 Greatest Movie Musicals." They, of course, put Singin' in the Rain at the top of the list, and deservedly so.

However....they put 1954's A Star is Born ahead of My Fair Lady, An American in Paris, and Meet Me in St. Louis. A Star is Born is almost as bad, if not worse than, The Pirate. (If you haven't seen The Pirate, it's not recommended, but it will at least give a few hours of complete and utter shock that something that ridiculous was filmed and presented to the public for viewing.)

I am sorry, but the aforementioned films listed after Judy Garland's sad attempt at a comeback are a million times better than that film. How can you beat "The Trolley Song" or the ballet with Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron?

And please let us not even start discussing how an old Judy Garland could possibly compete with Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady (let's conveniently forget that all of Hepburn's singing was lip synched).

So take that AFI's list makers.
