is something I hate. Right now I should be in Tampa, finishing up a training class for my typing program I use at work. But because I had to make my decision about going on Wednesday, I chose not to go for fear of being stuck in the middle of a hurricane. But alas, Hurricane Wilma decided to postpone her landfall on Florida and I could have gone to finish up my training! If only I could have had more info when I needed it. Darn the weather!
In other news, last week Jason and I, along with Mark and Keith, went to Garfield, Washington to pick apples and make cider. It was a beautiful, crisp fall day and it was tons o' fun to try out all different varieties of apples. Of course, while I was strolling through the orchards, the boys were playing guerilla war and bombarding one another with rotten apples. Oh to be the only girl.
I'd never actually pressed my own cider, so it was quite an experience. First you had to make apple pulp and then place the pulp in the basket to be pressed. And then, voila, cider! I was official photographer, alternate pulpifier, and ladler of cider.
Jason and Mark work the press and the pulpifier.
Keith loads in the apples!
