Well, it is Wednesday as the title of this post already stated. And that is about it for the excitingness of my life.
Today at work, I wasted time (not good) and then catalogued boxes of documents. May I ask who really and truly is going to spend time researching the mining techniques, statutes, and laws of the early 20th century in California? I don't think too many people. So why are they paying me to organize these books? I have no idea. But that's why I get paid the big bucks, to organize boxes of papers that no one will every look at (probably). Of course, there might be one random person who writes their doctoral thesis on mining accidents and instead of going to the state archives comes in here for some weird reason, but that wouldn't happen because only departmental employees have access to the papers. Seems like a waste of money to me, but isn't that what state governments are suppose to do?
So that's Wednesday the 10th for me: wasted government funds and mining books. And chicken teriyaki (that's what I'm making for dinner).
