Against the Wind...Still Runnin' Against the Wind

AAA is just about the best company in the United States. Not only do you get great roadside assistance for a small membership fee, but you also get tons of free stuff! Sure, you might have to wait for the tow-truck on the side of the freeway for two hours at 11 o'clock at night on a weekend, eating old powdered donuts and drinking some bottled water that was luckily still in the trunk from your last trip to Safeway when your friend's car breaks down, but yes, you still get free maps and roadbooks!

For those of you who are uninformed, AAA will send you up to 10 free maps or trip-planning books at a time, so eventually one could end up with the entire world in AAA maps. I have a friend who is well on his way to achieving this goal of owning every single one of the maps, including Luxembourg, Belfast, and Montana.

Just today, I received in the mail my very helpful guides to Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Seattle, and Alabama/Georgia. Just in case I sometime find myself in the vicinity of the Po Diddy Crossroads of Highways 41 and 80 in central Georgia. You never know....it could happen.
